This week's blog comes courtesy of Daya Singh, our International Operations Manager. Here's what he had to say about his work at BIDBI...

----------------------------------

I joined BIDBI in November 2013, to take on the role of International Ops Manager. I've got around 20 years' experience in the industry, after starting out working with family, before moving into kidswear, then menswear, and now ecobags! I came to BIDBI looking for a fresh challenge, and was drawn to the ethical and environmental focus here.

My average day consists mostly of communications with our factories overseas, where I arrange orders and deliveries of our stock bags, as well as some more complex client projects. I'm always in touch with our suppliers for updates, delivery estimates and pricing.

During my first month at BIDBI we conducted a full overhaul of our processes for International Ops. My long-term goal is to help BIDBI go from strength to strength and become the market leader in our sector. Here's a photo of BIDBI CEO Julia with workers at our Fair Trade factory in India, where our main supply of bags are created:

When I'm not at BIDBI, I'm a bit of a foodie (apparently I'm renowned for my lunches...) and also a keen runner. I'm currently training for two 10k races and a half marathon, and so far it's going well! I'd welcome any kind of sponsorship, so you can get in touch to do that or for any more information about International Ops.
