On Friday lunchtime our CEO Julia and Bag Project Manager Kathryn escaped the office early on important business - the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards. They were joined by Julia's friend Jill, and the trio headed off to Leeds for the ceremony.
The awards were held at the Queen's Hotel, in the huge, lavishly-renovated basement. Despite these difficult economic times, the atmosphere was one of positivity and celebration (partially thanks to the delicious lunch that opened the show!). Kathryn came back "inspired by the presentations on each businesswoman", saying "it was great to see so much time dedicated to each individual success story". We couldn't agree more!
Even better, Julia picked up the award for International Business Women of the Year, thanks to our ever-increasing export success with both BIDBI and our sister-brand, Talented Totes.
The award cited our partnerships with distributors in Japan, Canada and the USA, along with Julia's involvement with the UKTI, as our most note-worthy successes.

Julia was also nominated in the categories of SME Business Woman, and Manufacturing Business Woman of the Year. These categories were particularly tough, with some exceptional businesswomen fighting it out for the prize. Maybe next year we can scoop one of these as well!
We'd like to congratulate all the award winners from the event, and wish everyone the best of luck in the future. We've sent a congratulatory tote bag to the winners of each category, which we hope they enjoy and wear with pride!Tweet
