This week BIDBI had the pleasure of welcoming 11 clients from Exemplar Healthcare to our Sheffield factory for a tour and Q&A session with some of our staff. Lucy Waller and Lucy Arnold took on the role of tour guides, first showing the office and explaining the various jobs in the order processing department then showing the group around the factory to see the bags being printed!
Lucy shows examples of different prints from our sample shelf.
The clients at Exemplar have been working hard on their own business-minded eco-bag project. After presenting a request for funding to Exemplar and being granted with an interest-free loan, the clients designed artwork that they thought would look great on an eco-bag. Once everyone had selected a winning design, BIDBI printed this onto cotton bags which the clients are now selling with great success! The aim is to pay back their loan and then pay for a fun day out at the seaside with the profits. The clients have sold their bags at their recent Open Day as well as at other events – a great testament to how successful cotton bags can be used to raise funds! The team at BIDBI have been trying to think of ideas for our next team bonding day and have taken inspiration from the lovely people at Exemplar – a trip to the seaside may well be on the cards for us too!
Production manager Shaun describes the screen print process.
The group from Exemplar tested our product and business knowledge on Thursday with loads of inquisitive questions. Each client had the chance to print their own bag too – proving they are just as good at making their bags as selling their bags.
Printer Blain shows us how the digital print process works.
Heres what Exemplar had to say about their trip to BIDBI.
