Recently at BIDBI we have set up a charity committee, made up of both office and production staff aiming to give back to our local community and national campaigns which are important to us.
We opened up nominations for charities to the whole team and received some fantastic suggestions, all of which had personal connections to members of the team.
After a company vote, we finally decided on the three charities we are going to support going forward – two are local and one national and we could not be more excited to get planning events to raise some money and awareness. From sky diving to an open afternoon in our factory with food and games, we have a lot in the pipeline here at the charity committee and we will be sure to keep you updated as these happen!
Our three charities are:
Football unites, Racism divides: Football Unites Racism Divides is a youth and social inclusion project and charity in Sheffield, which works locally, nationally and internationally to combat racism and increase understanding between different communities. Football Unites, Racism Divides believes that football can help to bring together people from different backgrounds to break down barriers created by ignorance or prejudice.
Macmillan Cancer Care: Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer locally. We provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help.
Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity: One of 4 specialist cancer hospitals in the UK based in Sheffield, regarded internationally as a centre of excellence in the fight against cancer. Provides cancer treatment for the entire region along with pioneering research.Tweet
