Who are Mel and Sam?

We are working mum's, founders of Ethical Apothecary and qualified Beauty Therapists with experience within Spa, Retail, Training and Management and passionate about all things health and Wellness. Having spent 40 accumulative years within the beauty industry we realised the restricted availability of niche natural brands in one location. This was a lightbulb moment and so Ethical Apothecary was born.

How do you ensure the brands you work with are truly ethical?

Through research into the sourcing, type and use of ingredients alongside good ethical company practices and certifications. With our beauty therapy experience we have also been lucky enough to work with products day in day out for many years, gaining the experience and understanding of ingredient terminology and quality to recognise what's natural. How a product feels and smell can also be a good indicator to what ingredients are within a product.

What are you using the BIDBI bags for?

Selling and using them to create Ethical brand awareness, Gifting to customers for loyalty and encourage the re use of ethical bags instead of plastic. A bag for life.

What are some of your favourite products you’ve got in right now?

Evolve African orange aromatic hand and body wash. Sister and Co Almond and Black Cardamon bath soak. Mauli Sacred union scent and dry oil.

Are you only online or do you do pop up shops?

Yes, only online.

Where do you see the business in 5 years?

Following the momentum of on-line our dream and passion is to create our own Ethical product range with high street stores across Yorkshire.
