Last night we attended the Made in Yorkshire Awards. The event celebrates companies based in Yorkshire and the Humber and the products they are making here and selling all over the world. The awards are designed to reward the innovation and technological expertise of manufacturing companies in the region. A total of 40 companies were in the running to win an award last night, with the most ambitious and innovative recognised.
Taking place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, it gave us the chance to mingle with a whole host of different and interesting manufacturing companies from weed killers to Hendersons. We were shortlisted for the Sustainability/Green Manufacturing award; but were beaten to the winning position by Cranswick, food producers who place special emphasis on waste management and green issues. A worthy winner!
