When In Rome...

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend Ed and I flew to Rome, a place where we've both wanted to go for a while. It was full of everything we expected, amazing food, breathtaking landmarks and friendly Italians but something I hadn't expected came later on in the holiday.

Starting from the beginning, we walked miles seeing all the famous buildings and sites which we had dreamed of seeing for years. The Colosseum, the beautiful ornate churches and the Roman ruins were all so fascinating. Its amazing to think that these buildings have been around for thousands of years and have stood the test of time.

Besides sight seeing, we wanted to experience a typical Roma football match so we ventured further North of the centre to the Stadio Olympico and watched AS Roma beat Bologna 3-0. It was so exciting to feel the energy from the Roma fans when their team scored and to celebrate with them. Im not usually a football fan but I really enjoyed the atmosphere as the passionate fans roared with such pride for their team.

The best part of the holiday was the penultimate evening when Ed and I enjoyed a gorgeous meal and proceeded on our daily walk past the  Trevi Fountain back to our hotel. However, the exception with this visit to the fountain was that my boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed. I was so shocked and ecstatic. I couldn't get my words out to express how happy I was. It was so romantic and unexpected. I of course said yes! And since then I have found it difficult to stop smiling.

My colleagues at Bidbi have been so lovely in congratulating us. I have received some delicious cupcakes, candles with mine and Ed's initials on and a gorgeous card with individual messages from all the team.

We are both so thankful for our friends and family's kind wishes and are both very excited to see what the future holds.
